b'2675THE BODYLINE SERIES3rd TEST MATCH, ADELAIDE, January 1933A full-size cricket bat, the blade carefully split and expertly hinged to provide two flat surfaces for the collection of signatures, of which an important assemblage has been gathered over a four year period. The most significant autographs are those collected first: the 19 members of the English Touring Party (which included ex-Test players) and the twelve members of the Australian Team assembled at the Adelaide Oval for the fateful 3rd Test of the so-called Bodyline Series. According to Bradman, This was the most unpleasant Test Match played, the body-line attack rousing the crowd to furious barracking, and moving the Australian Board of Control to protest to the M.C.C. England won the match by 338 runs, thereby taking a series lead of 2 Tests to 1 with 2 Tests to play.Other groups of signatures are headed W. Australia 16.2.34, England v S.A. Nov.8-12, 1935, New Zealand 1937 (including Walter Hadlee) and a long list headed Blackwood Visitors which appears to be a collection of signatures of cricketers (first class and others) who gathered for a social match at a cricket ground at Blackwood, in the Adelaide Hills.
