Beautifully annotated by hand in gold and black on an acid-free green mountboard providing the names of the team members, the results of the 5 test matches and details of Australia’s best performances. Framed and glazed, overall 93 x 50cm. Australia won the series 4-0, with one match drawn. Australia’s best batsmen were Fingleton 478 (79.67), McCabe 420 (84.00), Brown 417 (59.57) and Darling 229 (45.80). Grimmett’s bowling was outstanding, with 44 wickets; supported by O’Reilly with 27 and McCormick with 15. For South Africa, Norse with the bat 518 (57 .56) and Langton with 12 wickets were their best performers. Framed and glazed; overall 107 x 59.5cm. Under the captaincy of Don Bradman, Australia won the 4th Test, lost the 1st Test, 2 matches were drawn and one was washed out. Despite the unsatisfactory outcome of the series there were several outstanding performances: McCabe’s 232 and Bradman’s 144 not out in the first Test and Brown’s 206 not out and Bradman’s 102 not out in the second. Bradman also made 103 in the fourth. Australia’s bowlers were led by O’Reilly, who took 22 wickets, especially his performance in the fourth Test where he took 5 wickets in each innings.
