Many of you will remember the previous Leski Auctions — the last one of those, Sale Number 430, was a two-day auction which took place in September 2013 at our old premises in Cato Street. (Auction 431 is an online sale featuring the last portion of the fabulous collection of model cars and construction kits formed by Ralph Drexel, of Perth.) We have spent the last six months working to re-establish the core of our old business, find new premises, fit them out and secure them, and re-engage with our clients. Our small team has years of experience and we possess a genuine enjoyment for working both with each other and with you, across all of the categories for which we are well known: Australian & Colonial History & Artworks; Stamps, Coins & Banknotes; Sporting Memorabilia; Air, Sea & Rail Travel Memorabilia; and Decorative Arts. This first catalogue incorporates many consignments that were delivered (or collected) late last year, and we are very grateful to all the vendors who have been so patient with us. We have been overwhelmed by the support from our clients — new and old — who want to participate in the auctions we have planned for the coming months. You are hearing from us now because we purchased the Mossgreen mailing list, as well as the equipment and software needed to conduct full service auctions. We now have a fantastic new website, fully interactive live bidding, informative and accurate catalogues and client-friendly terms of sale: our vendor commissions, buyer’s premium, credit card fees and settlement terms have all been reduced. We trust you will enjoy the experience, and we look forward to welcoming you at our new home.
