In 1839, Henty led an overland expedition toEngraved Presented to The Honourable Mr Stephen George explore the Mount Gambier region. He was theHenty Esquire, Member of the Legislative Council of Victoria first white man to climb the peak and view the blueby His Numerous Friends Resident in the Town and District of crater lake.
