Founded by Frederick Dodge in about 1880 in Elizabeth Street, the firm became a sporting icon.Some idea of the importance of these competitions may be gained by considering the size and quality of this trophyThe cup was made by Henry Young & Co., of Collins Street, Melbourne.Young made use of gilding to create exquisite highlights in his work as is the case in this cup The team that won the cup was the Dudgeon & Arnell Cricket Club Juniors. Dudgeon & Arnell was a manufacturing tobacconist business whose premises were in Richmond.
