A similar cover sold for £1764 at the Harmers of London sale of 14.12.2004. Alcock & Brown gained fame for completing the 1960 miles flight, crash-landing at Derrygimlagh Bog near Clifden in County Galway, and receiving the £10,000 prize offered by "The Daily Mail" for the first successful trans-Atlantic flight.
