1911 (Feb 18) Allahabad-Naini picture postcard (160x125mm) of Henri Pequet at the controls of his biplane inscribed 'FIRST AERIAL POST, ALLAHABAD, FEBRUARY 18, 1911' carried on the world's first official airmail service signed by pilot "H Pequet" on view side with India KEVII ½a tied by fine strike of 'FIRST AERIAL POST/[biplane]/1911/U.P. EXHIBITION ALLAHABAD' cachet in rosine and 'ALLAHABAD' & 'BOMBAY' d/s alongside on reverse, a couple of very minor adhesion marks otherwise very fine without the usual edge faults. [Examples in lesser condition sold in our June 2016 & Feb 2017 auctions for $2728 & $2640 respectively]
