1861 Victorian ‘PASSAGE WARRANT’ (270x265mm) with imprint ‘By Authority: John Ferres, Government Printer, Melbourne’ vertically at left, entitling a ship’s master to a payment of £14 for the carriage of two children aged 8 and 10 (apparently unaccompanied minors) from England, signed “LF Sullivan” Commissioner of Trade & Customs and “J Chatfield” (?) Immigration Agent. A rare & significant document, and the only example we have seen.
