Varley. This was the first major exhibition organised in Melbourne in the 19th Century. It was organised to bring together goods suitable for exhibition at the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1855. The Melbourne Exhibition opened on 17 October 1854 and ran until 12 December 1854.
