A Russian Imperial Glass Factory cut glass part liqueur set, late 19th century
from the Alexandria Banqueting Service, comprising a decanter with stopper, a tumbler, two stemmed glasses and a green stemmed cut glass, the decanter 22cm high. (6 pieces)
Each vessel applied with a blue glass banner enamelled with a dagger and floral garland and gilt cyrillic inscription.
As a child, Heifetz had been invited to perform on several occasions for the Czar's family. Following one of the first such command performances, this set of glassware was presented to Heifetz and his family; they accompanied the family on their migration to the United States in 1917.
