1919 (Oct 14) France-Australia AAMC#25b intermediate India KGV 1a Postal Card with 'CHAHBAR/10NOV19/PERSIAN GULF' d/s and 'FIRST THROUGH AERIAL MAIL/GREAT BRITAIN TO INDIA/KARACHI 14.1.1919' cachet in violet amended by hand to "Paris Melbourne 11.11" in red ink carried by Poulet & Benoist in their Caudron G4 'La Mouche' (The Fly) with 'KARACHI/DELY/11NOV19' arrival d/s alongside, a couple of minor blemishes, Cat $9,000. [Poulet & Benoist left Paris bound for Australia but the flight was abandoned at Moulmein, Burma on Dec 9; only three items with this amended cachet are recorded, fewer than half the number of Bandar Abbas-Karachi intermediates carried on this flight of which Frommer's example sold for $12,000]
