1925 (Nov 16) London-Capetown Imperial Airways Survey Flight souvenir postcard carried by Alan Cobham & AB Elliot in their DH50 with 'BY AEROPLANE LONDON-CAPETOWN FLIGHT SPECIAL MAIL' imperforate label in red tied 'BY SPECIAL AIR MAIL/16-11-25/LONDON/CAPETOWN' oval cachet in violet and South Africa KGV 2d tied 'CAPETOWN/19FEB26/KAAPSTAD' d/s on arrival signed "Alan J Cobham" on back, fine condition. Only a small number of cards were flown all the way from London; Horrie Chisholm's two similar items (but both with perforated label on the back) sold for $2360 & $2250 in Premier Philately Sale 94 in 2002.
