1926 (May 9) Spitsbergen-North Pole Roessler cover flown by Commander Byrd & Floyd Bennett in the Fokker Tri-Motor 'Josephine Ford' with USA Washington 2c tied 'NY-ALESUND' d/s and Norway Airmails 2ore & 10ore tied 'KINGS BAY' d/s on arrival signed RE Byrd on face, fine condition, American AMC Cat US$1500. Admiral Byrd and his co-pilot Floyd Bennett were the first to fly across the North Pole, taking off from Kings Bay on 9.5.26 and returning 14 hours later; only a few signed covers are known; ex Boris Joffe.
