Lot 39YOUNG GRIFFO, 2 ounce boxing gloves worn by "Griffo" (Albert Griffiths) when he met "Torpedo" (Billy Murphy) in a bout for the World Featherweight Championship in Sydney on 22nd July 1891. These gloves were owned by W.McFayden of Sydney, and sold on behlf of 'Boys Town' Memorial Hospital during a radio broadcast on 2UE Sydney in 1943. {Young Griffo (1871-1927) was Australia's first world boxing champion}.
