- WWI, scenes from Egypt and France with typed key to images, also 'Commanders of the Empire - No.1 Soldiers', twelve biochrome portraits, cord bound in folder, outside cover toned otherwise fine plus Gallipoli 'Pictures of the Battlefields of ANZAC' by Philip F Schuler with a handwritten dedication to Colonel Wanliss from Schuler, March 1916, some fine paint spatter on cover and two pages, (86 + 2 folders). [Philip Schuler volunteered to be the correspondant for the Age newspaper attached to the A.I.F reporting and photographing on the campaigns in Egypt and Gallipoli. On the journey there he befriended the official war correspondent Charles Bean and after pleading with General Sir Ian Hamilton gained permission to go ashore at Gallipoli and covered the August offensive.]
