Lot 1ONE PENNY: 1d die proof in deep blue on wove paper BW #59(DP)2a, Cat $20,000. The only recorded example. RPSofV Certificate (dated "1913"!!) states "printer's proof in connection with the Postmaster-General's 1913 Christmas and New Year Greetings Card". Based on the colour being exactly the same as on the cards - see the next lot - this is probably correct, but it is only a supposition. The ACSC states "One example is known on white wove paper, quite distinct from the stock used for the cards.
