INWARDS MAIL: 1895 cover from Samoa to "Herrn Carl Tausig/Hobart/Tasmania Exhibition" with 1/- bisect tied by 'APIA/APR/29/93 /SAMOA' cds in blue, Sydney Hobart & Launceston transit b/s & largely superb strike of the rare triple-oval 'POST OFFICE/16MAY95/TASMANIAN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION' arrival b/s in rosine, horizontal fold just clear of the Exhibition d/s & a bit soiled. An extraordinary origin/destination item, in conjunction with a very rare & desirable postmark. Ex Ian Satterthwaite. [An example of the datestamp on a franked cover from the Exhibition sold at the Prestige auction of 2/12/2000 for $4840. Mail into temporary events is much scarcer than outgoing mail. Inwards from a German Colony is quite extraordinary]
