Lot 142CLAUDE ARTHUR MARQUET [1869-1920], Labor Music, pen, ink and wash drawing, signed and dated "'05" lower right, 32 x 23.5cm. A political cartoon, probably for Melbourne Punch, the image depicts J C Watson (as the organ-grinder), Alfred Deakin (as his dancing monkey) and Sir George Reid (as the wealthy on-looker). All three of these men were Prime Minister of Australia between 1903 and 1905.
