A once in a lifetime opportunity is available for racing enthusiasts, collectors, owners and trainers to purchase a 2019 Melbourne Cup Carnival saddlecloth.

Each Melbourne Cup Carnival, the VRC auctions the saddlecloths worn by horses in the four key races, with all proceeds going to the National Jockeys Trust, providing support to injured or ill jockeys and their families.

Purchasing a saddlecloth is a great way to commemorate your passion for racing and own a piece of Flemington history, whilst also supporting a great cause.

The sixty-nine saddlecloths from the AAMI Victoria Derby, Lexus Melbourne Cup, Kennedy Oaks and Seppelt Mackinnon Stakes are signed by the race day jockey and authenticated by Neil Wilson, CEO of the Victoria Racing Club.

Among the saddlecloths up for auction are Lexus Melbourne Cup winner Vow And Declare’s, signed by jockey Craig Williams to mark the all-Australian win. As well as the saddlecloths of popular second-place getter and 2019 Geelong Cup winner Prince Of Arran (GB), signed by Michael Walker, sixth-placed 2019 Caulfield Cup Winner Mer De Glace (JPN), signed by Damian Lane, and eight-placed 2018 Melbourne Cup winner Cross Counter (GB), signed by William Buick (GB).

Also up for auction is AAMI Victoria Derby winner Warning’s saddlecloth, signed by Damien Oliver on the day he made history and broke the record for the most number of Flemington wins for a jockey at Melbourne Cup Week. As well as the saddlecloths of Kennedy Oaks winner Miami Bound (NZ), signed by Damien Oliver and Seppelt Mackinnon Stakes winner Magic Wand (IRE), signed by Ryan Moore (GB).

The saddlecloth worn by Godolphin golden boy Hartnell (GB) on his swansong race in the Seppelt Mackinnon Stakes and signed by James ‘Hugh’ Bowman will also be up for auction.

Own your own piece of sporting history and support a great cause.
