The tour was organised by the Marylebone Cricket Club and matches outside the Tests were played under the MCC name. Australia won the series 32, having been 20 down. The 1936-37 Australia side are the only team to win a five-match series after losing the first two Tests, with Bradman being the only captain to win a five-match series after losing the first two Tests.Provenance: From the Estate of W.L. January 1937: A miniature James Cobbett Super Test bat, dated 1.1.1937 and signed to the front of the blade by the 22 cricketers who appeared in that Test Match, which was won by Australia by 365 runs. The bat is signed in the ownership position by R.W.V.R., Walter Robins, who made a duck and 61 in his two innings in this match. He also took 2 Australian 1st innings wickets. While the signatures are somewhat faded they are all legible. The bat is housed in a custom-made timber and glass case. Overall 50 x 11.5 x 6cm.Robins toured Australia as vice-captain to G.O.Allen in 1936-37, and assumed the captaincy of the international side for three matches in 1937.$200300285FEBRUARY 1937 - The FIFTH TEST, AUSTRALIA v ENGLAND at the MCG: Gathering in Melbourne prior to the Test, the English Cricketers were invited to dinner at the MELBOURNE CLUB: Two special menus featuring a kangaroo and a lion shaking paws on the front covers dated 22nd February, 1937, one menu is signed by Gubby Allen, the other is signed by R.W.V. Robins. (2).Hopefully, they enjoyed their dinners, because Australia went on the win the Test match by an innings and 200 runs. Batting just once, Bradman made 169, McCabe made 112 and Badcock made 118. OReilly took 5 wickets in the English first innings and 3 in the second.
