A unique surviving record from this first tour of England.Hard cover, cloth over boards, 34 x 63cm (opened for display)From May to September in 1878, an Australian cricket team made the inaugural first-class tour of England by a representative overseas side. In October, the Australians played additional matches in the U.S.A. and Canada on their return journey. The tour followed one made by an England team to Australia in 187677, during which the first matches retrospectively given Test match status were played. They were captained by W.L. Murdoch.
