An antique French solid 18ct gold box by LOUIS-FRANCOIS TRONQUOY of Paris, beautifully decorated and engraved with the French Royal Ducal crown and monogram for ANTOINE D'ORLEANS, the youngest son of LOUIS PHILIPPE, the King of France. Antoine d'Orlens duc de Montpensier (1824-1890) was married in 1846 and left France in 1848 to live with his wife the Infanta LUISA FERNANDA in Spain. The box most likely dates to this mid 19th century period when Royal gifts were being exchanged. Circa 1847. 2.2cm high, 9cm wide, 5.3cm deep, 98.2 grams.
