June 1923 (AAMC.122b) Fiji - Australia cover, flown and signed by Charles Kingsford Smith on the last leg of the First Flight Across the Pacific Ocean (from USA to Australia). One of only 6 covers carried on this leg, it is also signed by Harry Lyon, the navigator on the epic voyage, who, together with Charles Ulm (co-pilot) and Tom Warner (radio operator), made up the rest of the crew. [NB: The most recent example of these covers to change hands was sold in our Auction No.262 in 2005, when it sold for $21,850 including premium.] Not present in the exceptional Nelson Eustis collection; a rare opportunity for the Kingsford Smith specialist.
