WILLIAM MURDOCH, superb signature on 1903 hand-written letter to a young autograph collector. [William Murdoch, Australia's most successful 19th century cricket captain, played 18 Tests for Australia 1877-90, and 1 Test for England 1892, being one of five Australians to represent both Australia and England in a Test. He was the first player to score a Test double century, and scored the first triple century in intercolonial competition]. L 1905 AUSTRALIAN TOUR OF ENGLAND: Original Scorebook of the tour, beautifully lettered and decorated by hand, presented to Victor Trumper by famous scorer William Ferguson. Titled inside front cover "12th Australian Cricket Team, Toured 1905 England, To Victor Trumper, from Wm Ferguson, Scorer, May 1905 - Sept 1905". A magnificent and unique record of all matches, compiled for Australia's pre-eminent batsman of his generation. 137 pages, original dark blue cloth binding, blindstamped John Wisden & Co. The last page records the results of the tour "Won 16, Lost 2, Drawn 19".
[Ferguson was official scorer and baggage-master to Australian touring teams for more than 50 years. He is also well remembered for the "wagon-wheel" diagrams of a batsman's strokes, which he conceived and drew from later in his career and which Australian captains used in deciding on field placings.]

VICTOR TRUMPER, match-used "County Sports - The Victor Driver/ Specially made for Trumper & Carter, Sydney" Cricket Bat, with initials "V T" etched on reverse in the ownership shoulder position; used by Victor Trumper to make 50 runs in 5¼ minutes off 10 balls whilst playing for Paddington in 1907.
