POPE JOHN PAUL II'S ZUCCHETTO (skull cap). A rare and important zucchetto gifted by the Pope's solicitor to the Australian owner in 1982. The owner was holidaying on a family farm in Italy and befriended the Pope's solicitor, who gave her the zucchetto, complete with a certificate of authenticity. The certificate states (in Italian) that this zucchetto was personally consecrated by Pope John Paul II. It is dated December 1982 and signed by the Pontifical Secretary.
The colour is white; about 16cm in diameter and 8cm high. In fine condition, framed with a photograph of Pope John Paul II. |
