Australia  DANIEL DJURBERG: "Polynesien (Inselwelt) oder der Funfte Welttheile", [Vienna, 1789], Pacific Ocean map with Australia named "ULIMAROA" (Captain Cook's original name), Tasmania joined to Australia, hand-coloured, 70x46cm. Repaired tear hardly detracts. [Tooley 447]. Extremely rare - Ulimaroa was only used on a small number of maps in the late 18th Century. Djurberg was the first to adopt Cook's native name Ulimaroa for the Australian Continent, in his 1780 map published in Stockholm, this is the Austrian reissue.   $1,500 - $2,000
