237   THE FIRST BALL IN AUSTRALIAN FIRST CLASS CRICKET: City of Melbourne Gas & Coke Company, one five pound share, dated 23rd Oct.1857, to William Henty of Hobart Town. [At the Launceston Racecourse (now the NTCA ground), at around eleven o'clock on 11 February 1851, William Henty bowled the first ball in Australian first-class cricket - to Duncan Cooper of Victoria. The ball was bowled underarm. Henty took match figures of 9-78, including 5-26, the second five-wicket haul in Australian first-class cricket].  $400 - $500
